Robert "Bob" Craig Boyd

Robert Craig Boyd passed away on Saturday January 6th, after a long battle with Parkinsons Disease. Despite his illness, Bob will be remembered for his sunny disposition and great sense of humor. He was 81. Bob was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and lived outside of Washington D.C. Bob received his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Maryland Institute College of Art. He served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Korea during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he attended Virginia Tech and earned a Masters in Architecture. Bob worked on various sites and projects in the area including The Pentagon Restoration Project post 911, The Washington Navy Yard, Ronald Reagan National Airport, and received an honorable mention in the design of the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington D.C. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus and The American Legion. Survived by his loving wife Olivia of 45 years, his devoted daughter and care giver Maeve, and his precious granddaughter and best buddy Sutton Sheridan Boyd. Other living siblings include his sister Emily Colee, and his brother Hugh Boyd. His other surviving relatives include his aunt, Ann Alcock, Ann’s children Barbara, Bill and Bruce, and his cousin Katherine McDonald, his sister-in-law Bonnie Chapman and his nephews Nick and Ryan, his adopted Irish Family, and his many close friends. Services will be held on April 2nd, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass St. Luke’s Catholic Church McLean, VA. Please contact family for reception details.
