Eileen M. Jackson

Eileen M. Jackson passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024, in McLean, Virginia. Eileen was born into a British family and raised primarily by her grandmother on the family tea plantation in the mountains of south-central India. She attended boarding school in England and traveled throughout the world as a young adult. On her way home from a trip to India, Eileen toured the U.S. to visit a friend in Washington, DC. Eileen’s friend encouraged her stay in the U.S. and assisted her in getting a job with the British Embassy. Eileen worked for the British Embassy for several years before transferring to the International Monetary Fund (“IMF”) where she spent the rest of her career. Eileen moved to McLean in the 1980s and she lived there with her longtime partner, Richard May, until his death in 2020. Their favorite activity was to take long drives together in rural Virginia. Eileen was gregarious, extroverted, funny, opinionated, and loved to read spy thrillers and animal stories. A service will be held in her honor on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Pavilion at Cool Spring Natural Cemetery, 901 Cool Spring Lane, Berryville, Virginia 22611.
