Catherine Helen Gula
November 15th, 1916 - February 7th, 2006
"Catherine H. (Posontek) Gula, 89, formerly of Ware Road in Palmer, died Tuesday, February 7 at Mary Lyon Nursing Home. Born in W. Warren, November 15 1916, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Catherine (Gasiorek) Posontek. She grew up in W. Warren before moving to Palmer in the 1940’s. She worked for many years at Tambrands and later retired from Sanderson MacLeod. Catherine was a communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Palmer. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1989, along with two sons, Joseph S. and Stanley J. She is survived by her other two sons, Stephen of Shutesbury and John of Monson, along with 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She also leaves her sisters Irene Salva of Chicopee and Lillian Zawalski of Warren. Besides her husband and two sons, she was predeceased by her four sisters Leona, Stella, Celia, and Mamie, along with her three brothers Steven, William and Exelvon. A funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St, (Rte. 20) followed by burial in St. Thomas Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service from 1:30 – 2:30 p.m. For those wishing, donations may be made in her memory to St. Thomas Church, Thorndike St, Palmer, 01069. "
