Thomas "Tom" C. Spangler
September 22nd, 1940 - June 18th, 2018
Thomas Clark Spangler “Tom” passed away on June 18 in his home in Charlotte. Born in Vivian, WV on September 22, 1940, Tom was a son of the late Conrad Theodore Spangler and Vivian Bivens Spangler. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Maxine Rumpf Spangler of Charlotte, daughter Amy Spangler Gerald (Greg) of Waco, TX, daughter Andrea Spangler Eckardt (Ian) of Charlotte, grandchildren Abigail Marie Gerald, Joshua Thomas Gerald, Emery Leigh Eckardt, Josephine Grace Eckardt. He was preceded in death by his brother Conrad Theodore Spangler, Jr and sister Dorothy Puskar of WV and sister Carolyn Eccles of Mt. Holly. Known for his ready smile and quick wit, Mr. Spangler charmed people wherever he went. He was fond of storytelling and good scotch. Lifelong, active member of the Presbyterian Church. Celebration of life to be held at Hankins & Whittington funeral home in Charlotte on Saturday, June 23 at 11am.
