Dawn K. Crisp
January 8th, 1944 - July 17th, 2018
Dawn K. Crisp, age 74 of Charlotte, passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018. She had a great love of family and friends. When her children were young, she was very involved at St. Ann’s Church and in the school PTO. She also had a great love for throwing weekend parties. Dawn enjoyed a lengthy career as an Administrative Assistant beginning with Eastern Airlines. This is where she also developed a love for travel. After 18 years of service, Dawn went on to work for Presbyterian Hospital and Bank of America. Later in life, she began showing and breeding American Short Hair cats. Preceded in death by her parents, Karl and Cecelia Kipp; sisters, Susan Chambers and Karen McCarter. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry L. Crisp; daughters, Kimberlee Shukes (Scott) and Heather Carlson; grandchildren, Jerry, Paul, and Anna Kate Shukes; mother-in-law, Hazel Hunter; sister, Sharon Money (Kent); numerous nieces and nephews; and her cat mentor and very close friend, Dawn Skupin (Mike). A service of remembrance will be held on Monday, July 23 2018 at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203. The family will receive friends immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the memorial contributions be made to the Winn Foundation at www.winnfelinefoundation.org.
