Francis “Frank” O. Crenshaw passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday February 17, 2019. He was born in Charlotte, NC on February 6, 1942. He is survived by his two brothers William E. Crenshaw and Richard T. Crenshaw and his wife Elizabeth; his four children Julie Crenshaw, Leslie Crenshaw, Alex Crenshaw, Andrew Crenshaw and his wife Amy; his 6 grandkids Avery Crenshaw, Carson Crenshaw, Xander Crenshaw, Jackson Crenshaw, Davis Crenshaw, and Beckett Crenshaw; nephew Jeff Crenshaw and wife Majorie; niece Elisa Crenshaw Sole, husband Griff. Preceded in death by his parents Olvin Alexander Crenshaw, Jr, and Catherine Crenshaw, his nephew Jody Crenshaw and his sister-in-law Renee’ Crenshaw. Frank was a graduate of Charlotte Catholic High School and attended NC State University studying Engineering. He was a retired Major in the US Army Corps of Engineers. He had a lifelong passion for the Boy Scouts of America (joining Cub Scouts in 1950 and moving to the Boy Scouts in 1953) and the Order of the Arrow (took his ordeal at Spring Fellowship in 1956) receiving the Silver Beaver Award in 1991 for his exceptional character throughout his service within the Mecklenburg County Council. He was a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow and a dedicated leader amongst the OA Cook Team. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at the home of Richard Crenshaw from 6pm-8pm and a service will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 11am in the Chapel of Hankins and Whittington funeral home located at 1111 East Boulevard, Charlotte, NC 28203. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Frank’s memory to the Mecklenburg County Council of the Boy Scouts of America. https://www.mccscouting.org/
