"South Hadley - Warren D. Horne, 83, entered into the Eternal Kingdom of Our Heavenly Father on August 19, 2013. He was born on October 8, 1929 in West Springfield, MA, son of the late Bertram M. and Dorothy M. (Flint) Horne. Warren was raised for many years in the Pine Point area of Springfield, he was employed as a iron worker for 37 years at McKinstry Metal Works in Chicopee. He proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was an avid Bruins and Red Sox fan and a member of several candlestick bowling leagues in the Springfield area. Warren particularly enjoyed the outdoors and gardening. Warren was predeceased by his wife Gloria (Craven) Horne. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Carla, son in law Franco and cherished grandson Evan Dell'Olio of Belchertown. He also leaves his brother Bertram Horne and sister Lois Kane, several nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his friends at Hubert Place and granddog Obi. A Liturgy of the Christian Burial will be held on Sat., Aug. 24th at 11:00 a.m. in St. Francis Church, followed by burial in South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Western Mass Elder Care, 4 Valley Mill Rd., Holyoke, MA 01040. "
