Sondra Ethelyn Grout

"Belchertown- Sondra Ethelyn Grout, 62, of Federal St., died April 30 at Redstone Nursing Home in E.Longmeadow after a short battle with cancer. Born January 22, 1943 in Ware, she was the daughter of Alberta (Grindle) Grout Stone and the late Karl Grout of Belchertown. Sondra previously worked at the former Valley Bank (Bay Bank) from 1961-1991 and retired from ADP in Connecticut in 2002 after 11 years of employment. Sondra loved horses, dolls, bears, ceramics, crocheting, and Elvis. She was a mother to everyone and lovingly known as “Auntie” to all. Besides her mother, with whom she lived, she is survived by a brother Charles “Chuck” Grout of Belchertown, four nieces, Darlene Sarnelli and her husband Michael of Chicopee, Geraldine “Geri-ann” St. Pierre and her fiance Keith of Ware, Joanne Grout and Rick of Belchertown, Kimberly Grout and Ernie of Belchertown. Sondra also leaves her great nieces and nephews Michael, Matthew, Nicholas Sarnelli, Jessica Grout, Marc St. Pierre, Brittany, Jaylynn Grout, Alicia Grout, Maisun Grout-Rollins, many cousins and her beloved cat Danny. Sondra was predeceased by her step-father Ralph Stone in 1996. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Baystate VNA and Hospice, 50 Maple St., Springfield, MA. "
