Robin Coran Becker
April 4th, 1953 - October 17th, 2020
Robin Coran Becker, age 67, of Ft. Mill, SC, formerly of Oceanside, NY, Queens, NY and Coral Springs, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House at Aldersgate. She was the beloved daughter of the late Irving Bernard “Bernie” Coran and the late Alice Zucker Coran. Robin graduated high school in 1970 and achieved her bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Rider University, Lawrenceville, NJ and her Master’s degree in English Education from Hofstra University, Long Island NY in 1977. She taught for a short time in New Jersey after receiving her degree. Robin had an exciting and varied career, especially with Tupperware, Inc. She was extremely successful with Tupperware, becoming one of their top ten salespersons. Robin was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (M.S.) in 1995 when she stopped working and became heavily involved with The National M.S. Society. She served as a support group leader for many years. As her daughters grew up, Robin was involved with P.T.A. and also coached both daughters in City soccer teams. She did so even from her4 wheelchair. Robin was so beloved by her family’s friends, she became the unofficial “Second-Mom” to all her kids’ friends. Robin was a past member of Oceanside Jewish Center, Oceanside, NY, Temple Beth-Am in Coral Springs FL, and Temple Israel, Charlotte, NC for the past years. She was an voracious reader of fiction and enjoyed sharing her Kindle with her daughter, a die-hard Miami Dolphins fan and was very proficient in computer assisted graphics; she was excellent at graphic tags, a big dog lover, and was a gifted musician who loved to sing and dance in her youth. Shew was a disco queen in the late 1970's, teaching disco dance lessons. She also enjoyed playing Mahjong with her daughter. Robin is survived by her loved and devoted husband of 41 years, Richard S. Becker of Ft. Mill, SC and her cherished daughters, Lisa Rochelle Becker and Jaimie Elizabeth Becker, both of Charlotte, NC, and her 2 favorite dogs, Fluffer and Nutter along with her grand puppy “Rotty”. Service and internment were private at Mt. Ararat Cemetery, Lindenhurst, (Farmingdale, L.I., NY) Her children summed up their relationship with their mother with a paraphrased quote from the famous childrens's book, "Love You Forever" (1986) by Robert Munsch ...."I' ll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living, my Mommy you'll be."
