"Palmer, Charles E. Russis, Sr, 84, died at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 3. He was born in Cambridge, MA on January 12, 1932 and has resided in Palmer his entire life. He proudly served his country In the US Air Force during the Korean War. Charlie worked for Zero Corp. as a Lead Man for 36 years before retiring. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, golfing, horseshoes and cards but he took great pride in his family and time spent with them. He will be deeply missed by his three grandchildren, Charles W. Russis and his wife Megan, Randy Russis all of Palmer and Rebecca Mozeleski and her partner, Paul Barsalou of Longmeadow along with two great grandchildren, Dylan and Madelyn. He also leaves his sister, Agnes Martowska of Lakeville, MA. He was preceded in death by his wife Norma in 2002, his son, Charles Jr. in 2005 and brothers, Robert and William. A funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 8 at 10:00 a.m. at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home followed by burial with military honors at Four Corners Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Donations in his memory may be made to The American Cancer Society."
