Elizabeth Lucia Leonard

Elizabeth Lucia Leonard passed away in Charlotte, North Carolina on April 10, 2022, surrounded by family. Liz was smart and funny and beautiful and loyal and driven to succeed. Her enthusiasm was both inspiring and impossible to ignore. She loved a good list, a good hug and a good game of cards. She was just as proud and passionate discussing her family, Lord of the Rings films or Washington D.C. professional sports. Born and raised in Northern Virginia, Liz developed an early love of learning, music, and sports, excelling in the classroom and on the field. Liz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in telecommunications from the Honors College at Pennsylvania State University, followed by a Master of Business Administration degree from the McDonough Business School at Georgetown University. Liz was a consummate professional and a dedicated leader who believed in helping others find and achieve their goals. Liz spent her 20-year post-graduate career in financial services, rising to a senior executive at Synchrony Financial, a Fortune 500 spinoff of General Electric. She is survived by her loving husband of 19 years, Christopher Scott Leonard, her adoring sons, Lucas Fisher Leonard and Oliver Finn Leonard, her parents, Richard Verne Fisher and Barbara Ann Fisher, and her sister, Kimberly Fisher Buckingham. Services will be held on April 22nd in Charlotte, beginning at 10 am at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Home, followed by mass at 11 am at The Cathedral of St. Patrick.
