"Palmer - Martha Washington Lincoln (Anderson) Nevue , 85, of Boston Rd. died on January 12, 2013 at Baystate Medical Center. Born February 22, 1927 in Carlise, MA, she was the daughter of Charles A. and Celena (Wallace) Anderson. Martha grew up in Carlisle and lived in Vermont before relocating to Palmer, where she has lived for over 60 years. Martha's main career was bringing up her children alone, being a widow at the age of 40, although that was a financial struggle, so she went to a job of driving school bus for Palmer Motor Coach for many years. She also worked at Monson Developmental Center for a number of years retiring from there after a back injury. She most recently was employed at LPVEC. She was driving charter runs and monitoring up until approximately three years ago. Martha was a member at the Second Baptist Church. Her family was her life and she often took others under her wing and treated everyone as if they were a piece of her family. She also enjoyed sewing, bowling and cooking, especially remembered for her cheese cakes! She was the main orchestrator of the yearly Fourth of July picnic/Family Reunion which went on every year for the past ten or twelve years, even if she was not always feeling up to par. She also enjoyed camping, taking uncounted trips to Cape Cod with her 1972 Winnebago up until about three years ago when her health started to decline. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Nevue and leaves behind her children, Patrick Nevue and wife Joan, of Leicester, MA, Robert Nevue, and wife Yuni, of TN, Betsy Seguin, and husband Curt, of Palmer, Gary Nevue of Palmer, Brian Nevue of Palmer, and Debra Stanisewski, and husband Wayne, of Springfield and daughter in law, Cathy Beaupre, along with 18 grand and 37 great grandchildren and a sister Carin Meria Anderson. Besides her husband, Martha was preceded in death by a daughter Susan Nevue, and siblings David Robert Collins, Charles Roosevelt Anderson, Dorothy Esther Anderson, Amos Burbank Anderson, Ella Wheeler Anderson Balentine, Woodrow Wilson Anderson, Anton Day Anderson, Geraldine Farrar Anderson Hawkes, Easter Dolores Anderson Chartier, and Calvin Coolidge Anderson. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church, P.O. Box 812, Palmer, MA 01069. A Celebration of her life and memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m., with light refreshments and coffee to be served after. Interment will be at Oak Knoll Cemetary at the convenience of the family at a later date. "
