John Hastings Gregson

John Hastings Gregson,19, Son of Leeann and Chris Gregson, passed away suddenly in his sleep on October 23rd 2022. Hastings was born in Charlotte NC on February 6th 2003. Creative, Intelligent with a keen sense of humor, he drew people to him with both empathy and compassion. He loved making and listening to music of all kinds, the mountains of NC, an intense interest in the histories of the world, and was knowledgeable well beyond his years. Hastings is also survived by his older sister, Christian, who he looked up to and admired more than anyone. Not only his sibling, but his best friend and advocate. He is also survived by maternal grandparents, Paula and Russell Irby of Birmingham, Alabama and Paternal grandparents Rina and Mike Clumpner of Charlotte and Sturgeon Bay, WI. A service for Hastings will be held on Tuesday, November 1st, 3:00pm, at Little Church on the Lane, 522 Moravian Ln, Charlotte, NC 28207. All are welcome to join in this celebration of his life. In lieu of flowers we ask for donations to be made in his name to the Emerald School of Excellence, www.emeraldschool.org located right here in Charlotte.
