Kurt passed away on July 18, 2011, at the age of 55 after a six-month battle with cancer. He died at Parkview Medical Center with family and friends by his side. Kurt was born in Pueblo, CO, in 1956. At age 17, he enlisted in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1976. He later graduated from the University of Colorado and CU Law School. He worked as an attorney for various municipalities including Colorado Springs, Denver, Arvada, and, most recently, Pueblo. He loved many outdoor activities including sailing and climbing the Colorado mountains. Kurt is survived by his sister Karn, brother Kraig, three nieces Kylee, Kaylin, and Autumn, nephew Evan, and close friend/ex-wife Kim. Kurt will live forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
