Pauline Wike Williams, 92, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024. Born November 7, 1931, in Lenoir, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Nellie Hartley Ferguson Wike and James Romulus Wike. Pauline is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Joseph Vincent "Vince" Williams, III, and Susan, David Anthony “Tony” Williams, Angela Williams Lail and Tony, Lisa Williams Lewis and Steve; her seven grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Sidney Wike and Sudie, and many more loving family members and friends. In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Vincent Williams, Jr., in addition to her two brothers and two sisters. Upon graduating from the Charlotte Memorial School of Nursing and later graduating with a BS in Nursing from UNC-C, Pauline began her 50-year nursing career at Charlotte Memorial Hospital. She remained a loyal employee even as the hospital changed its name to Carolinas Medical Center to its current name of Atrium Health. Pauline worked as a nurse in many areas of the hospital, including the operating room, floor nurse and was promoted to Evening Nursing Supervisor. She finished her nursing career as a nursing administrator. Pauline and Joe have been lifetime members of St. Ann Catholic Church and were Charter Members. Pauline enjoyed spending time in her yard where she loved flowers and watching birds. She spent many hours knitting dish rags and afghans. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, 11:30 AM, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 3635 Park Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5400 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating in memory of Pauline W Williams to St Ann Catholic Church, 3635 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28209.
