John Duncan
December 16th, 1933 - October 10th, 2013
Mr. Duncan, 79, passed in Charlotte, NC on Thursday, October 10, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center. His wife, Patricia, and children, Sharon, John Jr, Ruel and Tom, were by his side. He is also survived by sisters Joann Duncan and Betty Plumber from Nashville as well as four grandchildren and two great-children. Jack was born to Ruel and Lorene Duncan and raised in Nashville Tenn. where he was a member of the class of '52 of Montgomery Bell Academy. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in engineering in 1959. He returned to Nashville to work at Murray manufacturing lawn mowers and bicycles as CEO and chairman of the board for fifteen years. He was most recently part owner of Bonterra Dining and Wine Room in Charlotte. A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Monday, October 14, 2013, at Carmel Presbyterian Church located at 2048 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC 20226. Friends and family will gather following the service to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donation be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
