Pepper will be remembered as a happy guy who loved to laugh! Everywhere he went, people listened when he spoke and they appreciated his wisdom and advice. He loved his family, his friends and the game of golf. Pepper was especially proud of his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Pepper will also be fondly remembered by those he coached in Little League baseball and basketball. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Judy Cabaniss Perrell; two daughters, Kelly Perrell of Charlotte and Paige Smith (Brian), of Cumming, Georgia; son, Charles "Pepper" Perrell II, of Charlotte, and two granddaughters, Caitlyn Perrell and Willa Raye Smith, as well as another grandchild due in January. Also surviving are two sisters, Gloria Burnette and Gale Jahn, as well as many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at noon on Thursday, June 27th, at Central Church of God, 5301 Sardis Road, Charlotte. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Interment will be in Drexel Memorial Park, Drexel, NC, following the service. Memorials may be sent to National Multiple Sclerosis Society, A, 9771 Southern Pine Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28273, or Abba House Ministry, 6800 Dahlonega HWY, Cumming, GA 30028. Our chapel, a cherished historic landmark within the storied Dilworth neighborhood, is renowned for being the only funeral home in Charlotte graced with its own chapel, echoing with decades of history and serenity....
