William C. Howard
July 5th, 1923 - January 16th, 2004
"Brimfield – William C. Howard, Jr., 80, of Tower Hill Rd., died Friday January 16 at Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Born in Worcester, MA, July 5, 1923, he grew up in Worcester and graduated from Classical High School and later received a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Worcester Polytech Institute. William has lived in Brimfield for the past 4 years and previously lived in Polson, Montano and Pulaski, NY. Mr. Howard served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII. While in the service he was a fighter pilot instructor. William worked for 30 years at the Norton Company in Worcester as an executive vice president before retiring in 1979. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Worcester and was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Jane (Gullberg) Howard, 5 children Deborah Howard and her husband Roger DeBruyn of Brimfield, Pamela Howard of Ft. Collins, CO, Guy Howard and his wife Carol of Newtown, CT, Myra Howard of Manchester, CT and Nina Howard of Southboro, MA. He also leaves a sister Shirley Davidson of Eastham, MA and 6 grandchildren. A memorial service will be Tuesday at 11:00am in Wesley United Methodist Church, 114 Main St., Worcester. Calling hours are omitted and a private burial will take place in Hope Cemetery in Worcester. Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association, 1111 Elm St., W. Springfield, MA 01089.
