Jean R. Rowe
May 25th, 1929 - August 5th, 2012
"NAPLES, FL - Jean R. (Rainer) Rowe, 83, of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at the North Collier Hospital following a brief illness. Jean was born in Jersey City, NJ and was the daughter of the late Erwin and Lois (Wortham) Rainer. She was raised in Boonton Township, NJ and graduated from Boonton High School. She went on to graduate from the University of Richmond, where she met her future husband, William. Jean lived in Brimfield, MA for 30 years where she and her husband owned and operated Rowe Auto Parts in Palmer. Upon her husband's retirement Jean continued working at Springfield Wire until her retirement to Naples, Florida in 1998. Jean traveled extensively and especially enjoyed going on cruises with her sister Bev. She had visited every continent, with the exception of Antarctica. An avid bridge player she was in great demand with her new friends in Naples for a game almost every day of the week. Jean was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, William. She is survived by her three sons: William Jr., his companion Leah MacLeod of Monson, Robert and his wife Robin of Wilbraham and Roy and his wife Susan of Brimfield; four grandsons: William III, Brian, Michael, and Andrew: and her sister Beverly Magill of New Mexico and her niece and nephews. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family. A Calling hour will be Saturday, August 18th from 10:00-11:00 am at the Beers and Story Funeral Home in Palmer, immediately followed by a service at 11:00am. A graveside service will be at 12 noon at the Brimfield cemetery, followed by a celebration of her life at a location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of Richmond alumni fund at www.alumni.richmond.edu."
