Rebecca Taylor

On the afternoon of Saturday, December 13, 2014, Rebecca Jane Taylor suffered a sudden cardiac failure and was rushed from her home to the hospital where she passed away that evening in the company of her family. Rebecca Taylor was born Rebecca Jane Bowden on October 31, 1940 to the late Roger Larnie and Rebecca Jane (Parker) Bowden in Seaboard, NC. Affectionately known as Jane, she was the sixth of seven children. She attended Jonesboro Elementary School within walking distance of her home and Gumberry High School. When the family moved to Baltimore, MD in 1956, she attended Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School. After graduating in 1959, she moved to Brooklyn, NY. On August 7, 1960, Rebecca Jane Bowden and William Stanley (Stan) Taylor were married in New York City, NY and the couple moved to Japan on assignment. After returning to the states from Japan Jane, Stan and their three children eventually settled in Colorado. Rebecca Jane enjoyed romance novels, bowling, gardening, and music. Besides her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her sister Ellen (“Dolie” to the family), and her brothers Herbert (“Hoover” to the family) and Jimmy. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters Virginia Bowden, Margie Bowden Schultz (John), and her brother Irvin (Phyllis), her children, Roger Stanley Taylor, Martin Gregory Taylor, and Melissa Kay Taylor… and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
