Mildred Blanton Howell ?Tippy? Mrs. Howell, 90, of Charlotte, NC died Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at White Oak Manor. She was the daughter of the late William Edgar Blanton and Minnie Brackett Blanton. She lived at Edwin Towers for over 20 years and loved to teach crafts. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by two sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Linda Jo Ashley and her husband, Donald Sr. of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Julie Williams, Diane Craig, and Donald Ray Ashley Jr.; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Judy Linenschmidt and Teresa Mallgon. Funeral service will be Noon on Friday, February 3, 2012 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
