George Konstantinos Christ (Christofilakis) passed away peacefully on May 7, 2017 at Novant Health, surrounded by family and loved ones. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Trisa (Poulos) Christ; his daughter Jeannie Dellinger and husband Michael; his daughter Sophia Schell and husband Bill; four grandchildren Maria (Papageorge) Mullen, Christine (Mallos) Quiroz, Nicholas Mallos, Jonathan Papageorge and their spouses, and seven great- grandchildren. In addition, he is survived by his brother Stratos Christofilakis, Matina Stratakis, Georgia Manthos; along with many nieces, nephews and numerous other loved ones. He is preceded in death by parents, Konstantinos and Eugenia Christofilakis of Krokees, Lakonias Greece. George was born on October 23, 1933 in Krokees, Lakonias Greece. He came to the U.S. in 1970, with his family, and became a restaurateur, entrepreneur and head chef for over 30 years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A Trisagion will be held at 3:00 PM with a visitation following until 5PM Saturday May 13, 2017 at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East, Blvd, Charlotte NC 28203. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Preschool.
