Robert S Forsman
April 11th, 1924 - April 8th, 2015
"Wilbraham - Robert S Forsman , 90, joined his wife in Eternal Life on April 8, 2015. Born April 11, 1924 in Palmer, he was the son of Carl J. and Anna C.(Peterson) Forsman. He grew up in Palmer, MA and graduated from Palmer High School. Following graduation, he proudly served in the US Navy during WWII. He served on an LST and which helped to carry the Marines for the battle of Okinawa. Bob and his wife, Muriel, raised their family in Palmer on Shearer St. and lived in Wilbraham for the past 45 years. The couple relocated to Reeds Landing July of 2014. During his working career, Bob was the purchasing manager for CF & I Steel, among other corporations. On December 11, 2014, just 2 days before their 69th wedding anniversary, Muriel O. (Woodhouse) passed away. Bob will be greatly missed by his children, Alan Forsman and his wife Sara of Sarasota, FL, Ken Forsman of Worcester and was predeceased by his daughter Barbara Safford in 2010. He also leaves his son-in-law, Steve Safford of Palmer along with granddaughter Katrina Safford, one great grandson, Trevor, as well as his brother Raymond Forsman and his wife Pat of Feeding Hills. Bob was also close to Muriel's sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Donald McAdam of Palmer. Besides his wife and daughter, Bob was also predeceased by his grandson Stevie Safford in 2013. A memorial service, will held at the Evangelical Covenant Church located in Springfield at 915 Plumtree Rd., May 31st at 12:00 p.m.. Burial will be in Four Corners Cemetery at a later date.
