Paul D. Zimmerman Mr. Zimmerman, 86, of Charlotte, NC, died on April 21, 2011 at Presbyterian Hospital. He was born on February 25, 1925 in Blairstown, NJ, son of the late Sylvanius and Clara Zimmerman. Mr. Zimmerman is a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. After being honorably discharged, he went on to graduate from Princeton University. Mr. Zimmerman worked for many years in the insurance industry and retired from Cigna Corporation. In addition to his parents, Mr. Zimmerman is preceded in death by his wife, Sally; his son-in-law Scott Curtin; and one sister. He is survived by his children, Paul Zimmerman and his wife, Carolyn, Polly Curtin, Katherine Blankenship and her husband, Eric; and John Zimmerman and Trina; grandchildren, Chris Curtin, Leslie Sosa, Casey Blankenship, Tyler Blankenship, Hunter Blankenship,, Ashley Ipox, Whitney Zimmerman, Ryan Zimmerman, Justin Zimmerman and Kristen Zimmerman; and one brother, Arnold Zimmerman. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, April 25, 2011 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment with military honors will follow in Forest Lawn East Cemetery in Matthews, NC. The family will receive friends Monday at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
