Neil C. Hansen
November 2nd, 1928 - March 28th, 2008
"Neil C. Hansen, Sr., 79, of Maxwell Rd., died Friday, March 28, 2008 in Wilbraham. Born in Springfield, November 2, 1928, he was the son of the late Carl and Hazel (Woods) Hansen, and was predeceased by his brother Carl Jr. and sister Barbara Cassidy. Neil grew up in Springfield and has lived in Monson for 40 years. Active in the Palmer Grange and the Masonic Lodge of Masons in Indian Orchard, he assisted with their child identification program. He was also active as a board member and volunteer for the Department of Mental Retardation. Neil will be deeply missed by his wife of 50 years, Barbara (Briggs) Hansen, along with his five children Denise of Monson, Neil, Jr. of Agawam, Jeffrey of Springfield, Dana of Chicopee and Holly Olson of Palmer. He also leaves six precious grandchildren and a great grandchild, along with a sister Naida Johnson of E. Longmeadow. Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 2nd at 10am at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory to Sunshine Village 75 Litwin Lane Chicopee, MA 01020 or Shriners Hospital. "
