August 11th, 1946 - July 5th, 2010
Mary B. Christenbury Mrs. Christenbury passed away Monday, July 5, 2010, into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ after a long battle with cancer. Mary, a native Charlottean was born August 11, 1946, the only child of Winifred Etters Breen of Charlotte, NC and the late Kenneth Walter Breen. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Joe; son, Jeff Christenbury and wife, Amy; daughter, Julie C. Smith and husband, Daryl all of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Hayes, Grace and Grier Christenbury and Walker and Mary Claire Smith. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Vickie C. Huntley and husband, Ben, Vivian C. Ouimet and husband, Roger and Bonnie Overman and cousins, Sandra Lane and Billie Joe Davis. Mary was a wonderful person of both inward and outward beauty, who loved her family dearly. Her kindness and love will be missed by family and friends alike. The family would like to thank everyone at Providence Baptist Church, especially the Faithful Friends Sunday School Class for their love and support during this difficult time. Also we would like to thank Dr. Wendy Brick at Mecklenburg Medical Group along with Kathy, Lisa, Melissa, Jeanie, Loretta and many others for their kindness and care over the last five years. The family will receive friends at Hankins & Whittington Thursday evening July 8, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30. Funeral service for Mrs. Christenbury will be held 11:00 AM Friday, July 9, 2010 at Providence Baptist Church with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service. Officiating will be Dr. Al Cadenhead and Dr. David Jordan. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be members of the Buck Gray Sunday School Class.
