"Southwick - Frederic "Rick" S. Leary, 63, passed away on August 31, 2011 in Baystate Medical Center. Born December 22, 1947 in Springfield, MA, son of the late John Leary and Ethel Peterson. He was raised in Hampden and graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School in 1965. He has resided in Southwick since 2010. He proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard. For many years Rick worked as a brick mason and was a member of the Bricklayers Union Local 6. He is survived by a daughter Erin Ernstrom and husband Neal of Newburyport, MA and two sisters Susanne Shults of Southwick and Jo-Anne Marshall of Dallas, TX. He also leaves half siblings Elizabeth Fraunfeld and Sean Leary of Colorado. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 7 from 11:00-1:00 p.m at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Hampden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or AMVETS National Service Foundation, 4647 Forbes Blvd Lanham, MD 20706. "
