Caroline Scott Comly
January 30th, 2018 - February 10th, 2018
Caroline Scott Comly passed to our Lord peacefully in the early hours of Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the arms of her loving parents, Ginny and John Comly. To the great joy of her mom, dad, big brother Robert and big sister Katherine, our precious Caroline was born on Tuesday, January 30, 2018. She surprised us by coming a few weeks early, but arrived happy and healthy and was welcomed home within days. Despite her own courageous fight, the love of her family, the prayers of so many, and the heart-filled and tireless work of Novant's PICU team, Caroline's young body ultimately succumbed to a brief illness. While Caroline's time with us on earth was tragically short, she touched so many lives and will continue to do so. All those that love her are comforted by knowing that we will one day be reunited in a place far greater and that, in her short time, Caroline knew only an earthly existence that was showered by unceasing acts of love from family and strangers alike. In passing to heaven, Caroline has joined, among others, her doting grandfathers, Bob Hollmeyer and Guy Cesare, and is survived by her loving parents and incredibly proud big brother and sister; her devoted grandmothers Jere Hollmeyer and Sue Cesare; her adoring uncles, aunts, and cousins; and her dedicated Godparents. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 11:00AM at Myers Park Presbyterian Church 2501 Oxford Place, Charlotte, NC 28207.

At Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, nestled in the historic heart of Dilworth, we have provided families in the Charlotte area with customizable memorial services for many years. Our services are crafted to honor your loved ones in ways that are both deeply meaningful and healing. Our rich history began in 1946 when Irvin W. Hankins and James B. Whittington took the reins of the Crouch Funeral Home. The growth of our service and the community's support led to our move in March 1963 to the current location—once St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, built in 1930. Our chapel, a cherished historic landmark within the storied Dilworth neighborhood, is renowned for being the only funeral home in Charlotte graced with its own chapel, echoing with decades of history and serenity....
