Beers and Story - Belchertown
Stephen E. Quesnel
June 24th, 1965 - January 1st, 2015
"Punta Gorda, Florida, Stephen E. Quesnel, 49, of Punta Gorda, FL and formerly of South Hadley, MA passed away tragically on New Year's Day. The youngest of 11 children, he was the cherished son of the late Raymond and Mary (Downey) Quesnel. Stephen grew up in South Hadley, a graduate of South Hadley High School, and attended Holyoke Community College. He was truly a loving and kind individual, always putting a smile on everyone's face. Stephen will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his family, which was his greatest passion. An avid sports follower, he was a true Boston Red Sox fan, but most of all, Stephen adored the Dallas Cowboys and never missed a game. He would have been in his glory knowing that his "Cowboys" rallied to win a playoff game on the Sunday following his death. Stephen spent numerous years in the lawn care business, working for TruGreen and Moutainview Landscaping. Most recently he was employed by Fahey Pesticides and Lawncare in Florida. Stephen will be lovingly remembered by his former wife and friend, Mary Quesnel of Agawam, and children, Christopher Getto, wife Jenica of Frederick, MD, Jessica McAlpine and Theresa Torres, both of Springfield, as well as, grandchildren Arianna, William and Alexandra. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his siblings: Gerald Quesnel, wife Christine, of Mashpee, Mary Sudyka, husband John, of Punta Gorda, Joan Ellsworth, husband Mark, of Ware and Punta Gorda, Thomas Quesnel and Susan Grote of Granby, CT, James Quesnel, wife Alaine, of South Hadley and N. Fort Myers, Karen Corliss, husband Michael, of Punta Gorda, Michael Quesnel, wife Gayle, of Granby, and Kevin, wife Sharon, of South Hadley. In addition, he leaves several loving nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Stephen was predeceased by his twin brother, Philip, and eldest brother, Raymond D. Quesnel, Jr. A celebration of Stephen's life will be on Saturday, January 17th at 10:00 a.m. at Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. Burial will follow in St. Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday January 16th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the "Mary Quesnel Library Memorial Fund" in care of Berkshire Bank, 74 Lamb St., South Hadley, MA 01075. Notes of comfort and sympathy may be sent to the attention of the Quesnel Family at www.beersandstory.com"
