Nancy Rhinehardt
February 13th, 1923 - August 8th, 2009
Nancy Sanders Rhinehardt died August 8 after a long illness. She was 86. Mrs. Rhinehardt is a native of Seneca, S.C., and lived much of her life in Gastonia, N.C., and Rock Hill, S.C. She was the last surviving member of nine children born to Marshall David Sanders and Fanny James Sanders. She was also pre-deceased by her husband, William Rhinehardt of Rock Hill. Mrs. Rhinehardt was a loving mother, aunt, sister and wife. She was generous of her time, her material goods and her heart. There was nothing she wouldn?t do for a loved one. Her infectious smile and laugh made everyone around her feel like a part of her family. Her holiday gatherings were legendary among her extended family. She was considered a second mother by her nieces and nephews. She is survived by a daughter, Laurel Johnston of Honolulu, Hawaii; two nephews, Michael A. Purkey of Fort Mill, S.C., and Jeffrey D. Purkey of Charlotte; and two nieces, Elisabeth Purkey of Belmont, N.C., and Peg Robarchek of Charlotte. A memorial service will be held August 12 at 2 p.m. at Huntersville Oaks in Huntersville, N.C. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be contributed to the giver?s charity of choice.
