Paul W. McVey
August 26th, 1950 - December 20th, 2001
" Paul W. McVey, 51, of Brandywine Drive, died December 28 at Bay State Medical Center. Born in Boston, he lived in Leverett and Belchertown for many years. Paul was an Air Force Veteran of Indochina, Vietnam and Korea, serving as a minitions maintenance specialist and supervisor. He served with the air force from 1970-1976 and also worked for the Department of Veteran's Affairs in NY, Ohio and MA, including Otis Air Force Base. He worked for the past 15 years as a clinical administrator at Northampton Dept. of Veteran's Affairs. Paul received his BSN from Northeastern and held an Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate. He did volunteer work for Meals on Wheels in Amherst, was a member of Mass. Nurse's Association, and did administrative work for Homeless Veteran's of America in Northampton. He is survived by his wife, LInda (Cahoon) McVey, a son, Gregory A. at home, 2 daughters Melanie B. at home and Jessica A. of Shutesbury. He also leaves 3 brothers, William D. of Hanover, Mike of Freedom, NH and Joseph of Millis as well as nieces and nephews. A military funeral will be Friday morning. Friends and family may gather at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple Street (Rte. 202), by 10:00 a.m. and we will process to St. Francis Church for a mass to begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at the Mass. Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Calling hours are Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00 & 7:00 - 9:00 p.m."
