Suzanne O Safarik
September 25th, 1948 - October 5th, 2017
"Palmer- Suzanne O. (Smith) Safarik, 69 passed away October 5, 2017 with the love of her family surrounding her. Born September 25, 1948 in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Arline (Cordes) Smith of West Springfield. Sue grew up in West Springfield and has lived in the Palmer area for many years. Her artistic talent of ceramics was seen through her businesses in Wilbraham (Classy Ladies Ceramics) South Hadley and Bondsville (Sue and Bill's Ceramics). Sue was very crafty and enjoyed arts and crafts, playing Bingo, gambling, and her permanent camp at Forest Lake in New Hampshire. For over 30 years, the time spent there was treasured. Sue will be dearly missed by her husband of 26 years, William H. Safarik, along with her children, Denise M. Pelletier and her husband Timothy S. and Dawn S. Platanitis and her husband George E. all of Wilbraham. She also leaves her grandchildren, Timothy D. and his wife Samantha Pelletier of Agawam, Ryan R. and Devon S. Pelletier, Michael G. and Edward E. Plantanitis all of Wilbraham. Her sister, Paula A. and her husband Ward A. Remington of West Springfield, step son Scott Safarik of Boca Raton, FL and several nieces and nephews will also miss Sue. Besides her father, she was predeceased by her brother Edward A. Smith, Jr. Visitation will be Saturday October 14th from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home with a service to begin at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Palmer Senior Center."
