David Winfield Boyd "Spud" David, 56, died on August 22, 2016 at Carolinas Medical Center-Pineville after a long illness. He was a native Charlottean born on September 4, 1959 son of the late, Richard Parks Boyd and Elizabeth Davis Boyd. David was a 1978 graduate of East Mecklenburg High School and went on to a long career in sales. He loved to play golf and loved everything sports. David is survived by his wife of 21 years, Stephanie Loncar Boyd; son, Spencer; sister Kathy Boyd Curtis and her husband William; niece Elizabeth Curtis Dabovich; Nephew Billy Curtis; brother Richard parks Boyd, Jr.; nieces Trish and Emily Boyd; and Aunt Harriet Davis Payne; and many cousins. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 25, 2016 from 5:00 until 8:00 at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203.
