Anne-Marie Darcy

"Anne-Marie Darcy, of Southampton MA, died peacefully on January 28, 2018. Born in Holyoke in 1961, her family moved to South Hadley where Anne graduated from South Hadley High School in 1979. Anne began working full-time as an Office Manager at Mid Town Tire while still in High School. She graduated from Holyoke Community College in 1984 and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Elms College in Chicopee in 1999, graduating with High Honors. She continued her education at the U-Mass Isenberg School of Business where she obtained an MBA. Anne worked at a variety of positions throughout her career including AmPad Corporation, the Holyoke Street School, and the Holyoke Housing Authority. Her love for the City of Holyoke was exemplified by her volunteerism for a variety of not-for-profits including Girls Inc., CareerPoint, and the Holyoke Community Charter School. She was a tireless volunteer and valued making a difference in peoples’ lives. In spite of all these passions, her favorite thing was to enjoy a good laugh surrounded by her family and friends. She loved doing things for others and sponsoring events for her loved ones to enjoy. Those of us who attended OktoBEERfest or were invited to the Goddess Party or the numerous concerts and shows that she treated her friends and family to know what we mean. She is survived by her beloved husband, Richard Jensen and their four-legged family members, Dixie and Winchester. Among the others she leaves behind are her brother David Darcy of Palmer and her brother-in-law Paul Jensen of Westfield, her mother-in-law Linda Jensen and her partner Bill Shelton of Catalina, Arizona. She was pre-deceased by her mother Diane Racine Darcy, father Normand Darcy, sister Denise Darcy and sister Sandy Darcy-Rodzik of South Hadley who passed in 2008. She is also survived by her brother-in-law James Rodzik of South Hadley as well as her nephew Jim Rodzik of Palmer and her niece Katrina Rodzik of Clearwater, Florida, with whom she remained very close along with her brother Gerry and his family. Among her best buddies she leaves her very good friend, Sonja Stewart and her family, husband Anthony, and children, Ariaun, Saje, and Biaunca. Calling hours for Anne will be on Friday , February 9th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Beers & story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. Please join Rick in a celebration of her life at The Log Cabin on Saturday, February 10th from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. Have a drink on Anne and a laugh in her memory.
