"Granby - Theophile P. Beauchemin, 89, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, February 24, 2018. Born in Chicopee, he was the son of Theophile and Marie (Menard) Beauchemin. Theo was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving with the 45th Infantry Division and he was a recipient of the Combat Infantryman Badge. He retired in 2001, from Nonotuck Manufacturing Co. where he worked for many years. In his leisure time he enjoyed gardening, and fishing along the banks of Forge Pond. Theo was most happy driving his tractor and sitting on his swing enjoying the sunshine. He will be remembered for the way he could fix anything and his love of whistling that made everyone smile. Theo was a family man and had a deep love for his children, grandchildren, and especially his great-grandchildren. He will be forever missed by his wife of 62 years, Margaret (McBlair) Beauchemin, along with their five daughters, Lynne Dent, Jodi Morrione and her husband Jim, Trudy Turcotte and her husband David, Traci Beauchemin, and Jamie Beauchemin. He will also be missed by eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. A gathering will be held on Sunday, March 4th from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Theo's life at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Theo's memory to the VFW Post 3104, 174 Brainerd St., S. Hadley, MA 01075."
