Kathleen Helen Glock
October 10th, 1948 - February 19th, 2016
Kathleen Helen Glock, age 67, of Charlotte, NC passed away unexpectedly in her home on Friday, February 19, 2016. She was born on October 20, 1948 in Long Island, NY, the daughter of the late Dorothy Fisher and the late Lawrence Behnken. Kathleen is survived by her husband of 43 years James Glock; her children Sean Glock of Charlotte NC, Danian Taylor of Columbia SC, Ryan Glock and his wife Meredith of Eugene OR and Lisa Jones and her husband Judah of Charlotte, NC. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Jordan Glock, Justin Glock, Brynn Glock, Isabella Young, Allison Glock, Finnian Jones, Everett Glock and Declan Jones. First and foremost, Kathleen was a loving wife and mother who reveled in the successes of her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joy came during the time that she was able to spend with her loved ones during family gatherings. Her love did not extend solely to her family, however. Kathleen had a uniquely generous and welcoming spirit, and everyone who knew her knew that they were always welcome in her home. Kathleen loved dancing and music and went through life with a vibrant outlook that was infectious to all who spent time with her. She was a teacher who passed her love of reading on to her children and, in turn, to her grandchildren. She held a Bachelors of Arts degree from Marylhurst University in Portland, Oregon and a certification as a Montessori teacher. Kathleen was a light in the lives of those she touched. She was always quick with a smile or a laugh, and her sense of humor was one of her greatest assets. Her optimism and her capacity for love were unsurpassed. Join us in celebrating the life of a woman who loved any excuse to celebrate. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at The Catholic Parish of Saint Vincent de Paul in Charlotte, NC, with a viewing from 1-1:30 pm. A Wake will follow at the Glock residence.

The growth of our service and the community's support led to our move in March 1963 to the current location—once St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, built in 1930. Our chapel, a cherished historic landmark within the storied Dilworth neighborhood, is renowned for being the only funeral home in Charlotte graced with its own chapel, echoing with decades of history and serenity....
