"Wales - John A. Benoit Sr, 67, passed away on June 1 at Baystate Wing Hospital after a brief illness. Born July 21, 1950 in Palmer, MA, son of Florian and Dora (Belisle) Benoit. John worked as a Welder for Industrial Steel & Boiler Services in Chicopee. He served as volunteer firefighter for the Three Rivers Fire Department from 1987-1993. He will be deeply and forever missed by his children, Tammy Sears (James) of Ware, Brandi Roussis (Peter), Jason Benoit, Jesse Benoit, and Joshua Benoit all of CT along with 17 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. His siblings, Earl, Doris Haraghey, Elizabeth Dembrowski (Edward), Frank (Marlene), George (Karen) and Leo along with step children, Bill and Allen and Amanda Therrien. John was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (LaBelle) Benoit and his son, John A Benoit, Jr. A Funeral Mass will be on Monday, June 11 at 10:00 am at St. Christopher's Church in Brimfield, please meet directly at the church. Burial is private. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Christopher's Church, Brimfield, MA 01010. For more information please visit www.beersandstory.com."
