Evan Wayne Perkins

"Belchertown, Evan W. Perkins, 30, passed away at home surrounded by his family on June 9, 2018. Born in Northampton, MA on September 15, 1987 he was the son of Eric and Erica (Wheeler) Perkins. Evan was a graduate of UMASS Amherst and was employed as a chef by several local restaurants. He loved to cook, ski, fish and relax on the beaches of Truro and Provincetown with his family. Evan loved Asian food and culture and traveled extensively through Indonesia. He will be deeply missed by his parents along with his sister, Rachael Perkins of Amherst and grandmother Pam McCarron. His aunts, Beth Grader and her husband Buck, Rebecca Ryan, Sidra Ellison, great aunt Irma and uncles Brandon Ellison and Karl Wheeler and several cousins also survive him. A celebration of Evan's life will be on Wednesday, June 13 at 6:00 pm at Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St. Burial is private. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Food Bank of New York City directed by his favorite Chefs or the Appalachian Mountain Club.
