Isom Lee "I. L. / Buck" Melton Jr, age 88, died on Tuesday August 4, 2015. He was born on November 28, 1926 in Monroe, NC. He was the beloved husband for 67 years, of the late Virginia L. Melton who died just this past March. Survivors include his daughters Barbara M. Hill, Sarah M. Sperry and Katherine Melton; grandchildren, Rachel Dunning (Thomas), James "J.R." Orr, and Jennifer Orr Knable (Chris); great-grandchildren, Caroline, Jacqueline, Genevieve, C.J. , Veronnica and Wyatt. He is also survived by his sister Verna Lee Catoe. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at 11:00AM at Hankins and Whittington Funeral Service 1111East Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28203 with Reverend Michael Bye officiating. Interment will follow at Prospect UMC Cemetery 6020 Prospect Road, Monroe, NC 28112. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7PM Friday, August 7, 2015 at the funeral home. The family would like to thank Dr. W. Stuart Tucker for his care and devotion throughout the years. Members Memorials may be sent to The Metrolina Intergroup Association Office 1427 South Blvd, Suite 106, Charlotte, NC 28203, All other memorials may be sent to Prospect United Methodist Church.
