Beverly Jeanne Sparrow passed away April 18 at Avante at Charlotte. She was born January 9, 1941 in Charlotte to the late John Walter and Katherine Warren Sparrow. Ms. Sparrow lived many years in the Dilworth community until she became a resident at Sunrise Assisted Living at Eastover in 2001. She became a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in 1953 and graduated from Central High School in 1959. While being employed many years at Brumfield Studios she assisted in the photography of many Charlotte weddings and the pictures for many high school yearbooks. Photography continued to be a hobby for her, especially in her travels, always passionate about getting the perfect shot. Beverly loved music and enjoyed attending many concerts and performances - be it classical, broadway, Christian or 1950's rock and roll. A graveside service will be Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 12:00 Noon at Elmwood Cemetery, 700 West 6th Street, Charlotte, NC 28202. Ms. Sparrow is survived by a brother, William Warren Sparrow (Becky) of Winston Salem, nieces Catherine Sparrow Peele (Alex) Olathe, KS, Barbara Sparrow, Durham, Dora Sparrow, Winston Salem and nephew Arthur Sparrow (Julie James), Winston Salem. Also surviving are grand-nieces Lydia Peele Kinkade (Kyle), Melanie Peele Krier (Kyle), Charlotte Peele, Gabrielle Hill and grand-nephews Warren Hill and Hammond Sherouse. Ms. Sparrow shared her mother's love for all children and those who were blessed to have known her will remember her kind deeds. Memorials may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church, 1225 E. Morehead St., Charlotte, NC 28204.
