Tom died peacefully with his family at his side October 21, 2014. He is preceded in death by his parents William T. Mueller, Jr. (Bill) and Catherine Mary O'Hanlon Mueller along with his beloved brother David Lee Mueller. He is survived by his brother Martin C. Mueller, (Marty) and sister Margaret M. Mueller, (Margie), Nieces Megan A. Crawford and her husband James, Maureen Mueller, great-niece Nikki Fisher, great nephews Devon Henry and William Crawford, long-time best friends, Rebecca Ellis and her son Marty Ellis. Tom came to Charlotte from Pittsburgh, PA as a child and went to O'Donohue School and then to Charlotte Catholic High. After high school he went to work for Lance Packing Company before he was enlisted in the Army and went to Vietnam. At the Army, Tom worked for Duff-Norton Manufacturing Company until became a postal carrier for the U.S. Post Office for many years until his retirement. Tom was a gentle, kind soul. He was always there for his family and friends. He was a quiet leader, leading by example. A listener more than a talker. He loved sports and was an avid Carolina Panthers Fan. He loved to bowl and shoot pool. He was the Commissioner of his own Fantasy Football. Services will be held at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 10am. A visitation will be held prior to from 9-10am. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Charlotte. Contributions in his memory may be donated to Harris Hospice.
