Lorraine Clara Stone

"Granby - Lorraine C. Stone, 80, passed away on April 20, 2019 surrounded by her family. Lorraine was born June 21, 1938 in Northampton, MA, daughter of Hector Labine and Minnie (Lake) Smola. Lorraine lived in Granby from 1969-1992 then moved to Mississippi where she spent 26 years before returning to Granby in 2016 to be closer to family. She retired from Mt. Saint Vincent Nursing Home where she worked as a nurse’s aide for many years. Lorraine will long be remembered for the love and care she gave to her family. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 63 years, James E. Stone, Sr. of Granby, sons, James E. Stone, Jr. (Carol) of Aurora, CO and Gary A. Stone (Kathy) of Chicopee, and sisters, Linda Chambrin (Pierre) and Jeanne Cuipenski. She also leaves her cherished grandchildren, Jennifer Silva (Christopher), Jessica Marlow (Ryan), Joshua Stone (Zhane) and Cody Stone, and her great-grandchildren, Arwen and Rowen Silva, and Clara, Lena and Vera Marlow and her daughter-in-law, Jodi Morrione (Jim). Her daughter Brenda Stone and a sister, Arlene Larocque, preceded Lorraine in death. Calling hours will be Monday, April 29th from 10-12:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 12:30 p.m. at West Street Cemetery in Granby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital."
