"Paul Francis Camyre Sr. “Pop”, 100, passed away peacefully November 12, 2019. He was born on August 24, 1919 to the late Albert and Jennie (Baer) Camyre and grew up in Longmeadow, MA. Paul proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was employed in Palmer at CF&I Corp and later delivered flowers for Maryniski’s. He also created beautiful stained glass artwork and had a booth at the Big E for many years. Paul enjoyed reading, antiquing, trains, music, sports- Boston Red Sox, Patriots, and UConn girls basketball, and he had a knack for making people smile. He loved going to Krazy Jake’s in Wilbraham where his presence mirrored Norm on Cheers- where everyone knew his name. He adored his family, friends, dogs- Ginger & Suzie, and made everyone he met feel welcome. His infectious smile and genuine positive attitude will be missed greatly. Paul is survived by his children, Peter (wife Mindy) Camyre and Elizabeth Gamache; Son-in-law, Phillip (wife Pam) King; Grandchildren, Phillip King Jr., Jeff King and Melissa Carreira (husband Joe), Kyle Camyre (girlfriend Sarah MacKay), Benjamin and Lauren Gamache; Great-grand children Layla King, Maddox & Sullivan Carreira. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” (Hanscom), brother, Earl, and two children Paul and Mary King. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, Nov 20th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas Church in Palmer. Please meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m at the Mass. Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Paul's memory may be made to a local Veterans' organization of ones choice.
