Linda Vaughn Campbell
December 14th, 1949 - January 18th, 2014
Mrs. Campbell passed away on January 18, 2014 after a long struggle with cancer. Her life was one filled with a strong faith in Jesus Christ, love for her family and a mission to help others in need. This desire to help others created an extended family of people that loved Linda. Linda from her earliest days had a desire to travel and was able to realize this desire. She spent a lot of time in England acquiring antiques which she sold in various venues. She, along with her husband Ronnie, and many times her children, had many glorious adventures abroad, particularly in Europe. Her first trip abroad was to Israel. Linda is survived by her husband Ronnie, her three children Jason Campbell and wife Luibov, Clayton Campbell and wife Yelena, and Anna Catherine Campbell-Bartholomew and husband Neal. In addition she is survived by her brothers, Charles Vaughn and Michael Vaughn, and sister, Nancy Lovelace. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Vaughn, and one brother, Robert Vaughn. Linda is also survived by seven wonderful grandchildren who were loved so much by their grandmother. They are Alexey, Ella, Margaret, Evangeline, John (Vanya), Mary and Emma. Linda was born in Greenville, SC on December 14, 1949. She attended Gardner Webb University. Her main occupation was raising her family and later dealing antiques. Linda had a very full life with much joy. She had many dear friends which she counted as a great treasure. Her life was truly blessed by the love of two special Margarets; Margaret Mayhew, who will always be her second mother and inspiration, and Margaret McNeely Curtis, who will always be her special God-given friend. God had a grand plan when he placed Linda at 335 South Academy Street in Mooresville. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service in Charlotte, NC, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 21, 2014. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment will be the following day in Carver Cemetery on the banks of Lake Santeetlah near Robbinsville, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nancy (Linda's sister) and Tim Lovelace or Nathan and Allison Atwood (Linda's niece) who are missionaries with Go To Nations, P.O. Box 10305, Jacksonville, FL 32247. Memorials may also be made to the Hospice of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar St., Lincolnton, NC 28092, which served her well during her time of struggle. Arrangements are in the care of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service 1111 East Blvd. Charlotte, NC. Please share condolences online at www.hankinsandwhittington.com.
