Loretta Lucille Long Watts "Rita" Loretta "Rita" Lucille Long Watts, 56, of Charlotte, NC was called to meet our Father in heaven on Wednesday, December 11th 2013. Rita was born to the late Stacy Lee Long and surviving Annie Norris Long on August 24th 1957 in Charlotte, NC. Rita graduated from Harding High School in 1975 and continued her education in Business Administration at Central Piedmont Community College. Rita worked as an Executive Assistant, Controller, Book Keeper and Accountant for many years, until she was diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension, which took her from her position in 2005. Even with her disability, Rita continued to help loved ones from home with her knowledge and keen business since. Rita's work ethic was impeccable, working late many nights and weekends striving to make each company/employer she worked for run more smoothly and efficiently. Rita was an active member at Central Church of God, in Charlotte, NC for many years. She was a devout Christian and spoke of the love of Jesus to all. She thoroughly enjoyed having bible study with any and everyone, and loved to dive into the word of God. She was able to witness all of her grandchildren getting baptized this past year, reassuring her that she had trained her children in the way they should go. Proverbs 22:6. Rita was a devoted mother, incredible grandmother, and loving mother-in-law, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed on this earth. She would light up any room she walked in with her smile and left a lasting impression on all who met her. She is survived by: Her mother, Annie Norris Long of Charlotte, NC; three children; Richard Alan Watts Jr., Stephanie, "Nicki" Nicole Watts and Dawn Michelle Watts of Charlotte, NC; two sisters; Vira "Vi" Long Koontz of Lincolnton, NC and Julie Long Dunn of Charlotte, NC; two brothers; Dennis Lee Preslar of Raleigh, NC and Patrick Dennis Lee Long of Charlotte, NC; a dear friend; Patricia Ann Cody of Monroe, NC; seven grandchildren, Andru Spencer, Trey Watts, Skylar Spencer, Ethan Watts, Bryson Watts, Chloe Watts, and Leyla Delgado; and three loving dogs; Roscoe, Harry, and Pepper. She has joined her late father; Stacy Lee Long, sister; Elizabeth Ann Long Bishop, and precious caregiver; Leslie Luther Sitgraves, at her permanent home with Jesus. A funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Monday, December 16, 2013 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 15, 2013 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at the funeral home.
