Mary Frances Miller
August 2nd, 1929 - November 21st, 2013
Mary Frances Miller went home to be with her Lord on November 21, 2013. She was 84. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Ronald Garland Miller and together they had three children, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mary Frances was blessed in many ways, but her greatest joy was her family. She led a spirit-filled life and was a dedicated member of Resurrection Lutheran Church. Forty years ago Mary Frances established Mary Frances Miller Antique Galleries in Charlotte. As her business grew, her many clients became a second family to her. The customers in her shop always valued her wisdom, her knowledge, and her integrity. Over time, these relationships blossomed into friendships that lasted for decades. She treasured each and every one of those friendships beyond words. Mary Frances was humbled by the outpouring of warmth and compassion shown by her many friends near and far when they learned that she was ill. She considered herself blessed to have experienced this show of love before her death. In addition to her husband, Mary Frances is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Currie and son-in-law Greg Currie, of Charlotte, NC; son, Ron Miller and daughter-in-law, Theresa Miller of Greensboro, NC; and daughter, Joanne Mobley of Charlotte, NC; her grandchildren, Adam Currie and his wife, Mary, Betsy Zarzour and her husband, Taylor, Dan Miller and his wife, Lane, Mary Grace Miller, Virginia Miller, and Preston Mobley; and her "precious sugar lumps" great granddaughters Katie, Grace, Carter and Ainsley. The family would like to thank Dr. Reza Nazemzadeh and nurses, Mary Anne, Paulette, Jen, Jeanie, and Audrey for the quality of life Mary Frances experienced under their care. At her request, Mary Frances will be interred in a private graveside service. Memorials may be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2940 Commonwealth Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205, or Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204 or at donatehospice.org. Arrangements are in the care of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service.

The growth of our service and the community's support led to our move in March 1963 to the current location—once St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, built in 1930. Our chapel, a cherished historic landmark within the storied Dilworth neighborhood, is renowned for being the only funeral home in Charlotte graced with its own chapel, echoing with decades of history and serenity....
