Alice Ann Bowers "Ann" Mrs. Bowers, 81 of Charlotte, NC. She was born on October 22, 1931 in Charlotte daughter of the late A.P. and Mary S. Ramsey. Mrs. Bowers was a member of Newell Baptist Church and worked for many years as a clerk for the federal reserve. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowers was preceded in death by her husband Ed Bowers. She is survived by son, Ken Griffin and his wife Dianne; daughters, Debbie Benson and her husband, Steve and Dana Overcash and her husband, Billy; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; a brother, Carl Ramsey; sister, Jean Stewart; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in the chapel of Hankins & Whittington Funeral Service, 1111 East Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28203. Interment will follow in Forest lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.
