Paul Stephen Goss was born on January 7, 1943 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to father George and mother Ann (Slattery). He departed this life on November 21, 2021 at The Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke, Massachusetts. Paul served honorably in the United States Army and Air National Guard. Paul began his work life at the Nevada Nuclear Testing Range before becoming a Police Officer, with service in Hartford, Connecticut and Pelham, Massachusetts. From 1988 until his retirement in 2009, Paul served as an Officer and Counselor in the Connecticut Department Of Corrections. Paul was preceded in death by his parents; brother John (Jack), sister Carol DeAngelo, and is survived by his children Shayna Kaiser and husband Jake of Rochester, NY; Stephen and wife Francine of Tallahassee, Florida; Seth of Pelham; grandchildren Veronica, Jessica, Nazryk and Gideon; as well as two great grandchildren. He is also survived by ex-wife and close friend Cynthia Hutchinson. Paul’s surviving family members wish to thank the staff of the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke for its attentive and compassionate care, particularly in recent months. Paul shared that the Soldiers’ Home was the best living facility he could have hoped for. In lieu of flowers, the Family requests donations be made to the Soldiers’ Home.
