Cheryl D. Houle
March 25th, 1954 - December 28th, 2022
Cheryl D. Houle, 68, of Clinton, Massachusetts passed away December 28, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 25, 1954 in Berlin, New Hampshire to the late Raymond and Dorothy (Niquette) Hamel. Cheryl was employed as a cafeteria worker in the Chicopee public school system for over 20 years prior to her retirement. A practicing Catholic, Cheryl enjoyed singing in the choir at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Anne's Church, both of Chicopee. She also enjoyed crafting, frequenting tag sales every weekend, and spending time with her grandchildren. Besides her parents, Cheryl was predeceased by her loving husband, Armand Houle, in 2002, her brothers, Donald Hamel and Ray Langevin, and sister Nancy Correiro. She will be dearly missed by her children, Heather Diem and husband David of Clinton, Erin Waitt and husband Michael of Warren, and Erik Houle of Chicopee; grandchildren, Kassidy Diem, Jeffrey Diem, and Abigail Waitt; siblings, Carol Couture of MI, Michael Langevin of Marlborough, Mark Leroux and wife Barbara of Agawam, Richard Hamel and wife Jeri of Blandford, Francis Hamel and wife Marcia of New Bedford, James Hamel and wife JoAnn of Chicopee, David Hamel and wife Mila of AZ, Dennis Hamel and wife MaryAnn of Westfield, Mary Beth Houle and husband Denis of Granby, Terri O'Connell and husband James of Chicopee, Kevin Hamel and wife Sharon of Granby; Ludgee Gaulin of Lowell; Linda Gaulin of MO; Norma Jeanne King of OH; Mark Gamache and Rose Marie as well as many extended family and friends. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 5th from 9:30am-12:00pm at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home. A Catholic service will begin at 12:00pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cheryl's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association by visiting diabetes.org.
