Lyn Yost

Lyn Steven Yost 67 passed peacefully away on March 28, 2018, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born July 26, 1950, in Dodge City, Kansas to parents Louise (Hale) and the late Larry Marvin Yost. Lyn graduated from the Dodge City High School in 1968. In 1975 he graduated from Saint Mary of the Plains College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education and began his teaching career at Northwest Elementary until 1992; when he moved to Colorado Springs where he continued teaching until his retirement in 2012. From a young age, Lyn was involved in the Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City, KS working almost every position. During this period, he developed many of the close friendships that remained throughout his life. When the Boot Hill Repertory Company was formed, he quickly became involved, building sets and coordinating lighting, to serving food and even appearing in a few of the shows. Lyn’s passion was working with people. He touched many young lives through his teaching career and always had stories to tell about some wild and crazy things his students did. He will be remembered by all for his caring heart. He is survived by his mother, Louise Yost Busch, and brothers Lance Yost Busch of Dodge City, Kansas, Shawn Yost of Canon City, Colorado, and Scott Yost and wife Mirna of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Nephews Ryan Yost and Jerad Busch and Nieces Jenna Rouse and Kathryn Kravitcz. He is preceded in death by father, Larry Yost and nephew Jacob Busch.
